Cluichí Deireannacha| Recent Games

Sunday past (20/10/13) saw the U16s line out in the championship final against Dungannon in Edendork. We lost 3-16 to 2-4 on a day where little seemed to go right for the lads. Behind 3-10 to 0-2 in the first half, the game was as good as over but the lads deserve credit for playing to the finish in a much closer second half that gave more of a glimpse of this side's potential. Eoghan Ruadh are a well prepared and schooled outfit, and their ability to create space in front of the NCC goal as well as creating pressure on the man on the sliothar with their mobile 3 man tackling units were our undoing in the first-half. They were deserving winners on the day. A word of thanks to our players and management who put in a sound effort all year. Although disappointed at the moment, a continuation of your hard work will produce a harvest in its own time. Lean oraibh.

The seniors moved up to 3rd place (an indication of the ability of each team to beat each other on any given day in this division) in Antrim League Div 3 after Sunday's impressive 3-17 to 4-08 win over Con Magees, Glenravel in Clochóg. Our field was not unsimiliar to the moss near us owing to the rainy weather recently and both teams and the referee deserve great credit for serving up an entertaining game through the heavy rain and clabber. (Note to An Coiste: Get the showers fixed!). The Cilles teamwork and ability to move the ball to the man in space was particularly noticeable and follows the change in attitude and attention to the training field over the past few months. Here's hoping the same continues over the winter months and into next season. Maith sibh.

Finally, the U10s took part in the mini-games at half-time in the Tyrone Intermediate & Junior Football finals. By all accounts, they enjoyed the experience and the large crowd watching them.
