Cycling advice 14 from 'The Master':

N.C.C.C.C. 14

Are you starting to feel like a 'cyclist' now? Are your legs taking on a little definition? Are your jeans a little looser? Is the lycra a little bit more flattering?

Last week was a recovery week, but this week sees you returning to the 'house of pain'. Your main target this week is to do 50 miles again. It can be the same 50 as before or something new, it doesn't matter. This time you try to cycle the 50 miles with just one 15 minute stop around the half way mark. You should carry some thing likefig rolls or a banana in a back pocket and eat these as you cycle along. This will keep your energy levels up and help you avoid the 'knock'.

Having completed a 50 this week , don't rest up for the remainder of the week.

It is more important than ever that you get out at least once more this week. Now is the time for the really hard work.

"Specsavers!" - at the clubs table quiz, one man can't contain himself and shouts out aloud what he thinks is a funny answer to the question of who sponsors Hawkeye in Croke Park. It received the laugh of the night.
