The U16s took on Dungannon in the U16 Championship Final on Sun morning 15 June in Garvaghy. The lads went down to an 8-12 to 3-11 scoreline with the goals being our achilles heel again but it was a very competitive encounter with every ball fought for tooth and nail. The tendency to leak 3 pointers was a feature of last years final as well and the absence of manager Thomas Nixon due to an urgent family matter was a factor in this trend repeating itself. In saying that, if the game is looked at purely from a hurling point of view, there was a lot to admire from the Colum Cille performance and with continued dedication and practice, this squad could reach a higher hurling plane. They gave a committed performance against a skilful Eoghan Ruadh side that were narrowly defeated in a Croke Park Féile Final a few years back  and although disappointed, beidh lá eile ag na Paorach.

Corn Niocláis Uí Riocaird

Congratulations to the Tyrone senior hurlers and management on their inspiring Nicky Rackard cup campaign and Croke Park final victory over Fionn Gall. A tremendous achievement borne of hard work and sheer belief. Focal ar leith do na báireoirí ónár gcumann féin NCC - a special word to our own Cilles hurlers Mike O'Gorman, Chris Cross, Rory O'Neill and Eric Kirwin (with league squad). Maith sibh uilig.

Na Sinsir (Seniors)
Games are set to resume following a 4 week layoff due to the Nicky Rackard. The home matches against Liatroim, Pearse Óg and Knockbridge are being refixed and the next scheduled fixtures are the long journeys to Burt on Wed 25 June and Setanta on Sat 5 July.

Tour The Lough
The clubs fundraising Tour the Lough cycle was a great success last Sun 1 June. 83 cyclists faced the 100 mile and 40 mile circuits and all the logistics, stops and catering were organised to a T by the hardworking subcommittee. Our youth also played their part by cycling on the spin cycles in the pavilion. The club would like to thank Cúchullain Ard Mhacha, Armagh City Council, Clann Éireann, Ciceam an Creagán and Na Seamróga Bhaile an Doire for the use of their excellent facilities, the race sponsors (see club Facebook), Gerard Scott of Island Wheelers, all the club volunteers especially Paul, Mickey, Josie, Ann S, Michelle and Anne O. Finally a word of thanks to all the cyclists from near and far who took part. Roll on next year.

Coaching for all our youth hurling squads continues at the usual times. Contact Oifigeach na n-Óg Paul 07747 301263 for details.

The young U14 squad had a win over Ceapach in Clochóg in the league and took part in the Tyrone Féile recently.

Liathroid Láimhe | Handball

The club hosted a very successful one wall tournament in St Josephs High School, Coalisland on Wed 18th June. That ended the club season overall except for those entered into the Ulster GAA One Wall Championships. Indeed this will be an historic milestone for the club on June  28/ 29 when we compete for the first time in an Official Handball competition. The venue is Loughmacrory who will be opening their new complex on the day and our thanks to the Breacach club for facilitating us.

Lá Fhéile Colm Cille
At the annual Aifreann na Gaeilge celebrating the feast day of St Colm Cille (9 June), a new icon beautifully painted by Rory Ó Néill and framed by Seán Mac Cába was blessed and presented to the club. It now watches over ár bhfo-chumann from the pavilion wall. Thanks to those who contributed anonymously to this gift.
