The Cilles defeated neighbours Dungannon Eoghan Ruadh last night to reach the Tyrone Senior Hurling C'Ship Final for the first time. In a performance laced with grit, skill and discipline a hungrier NCC unit were full value for the win. We now meet Carrickmore Éire Óg for the Benburb Cup. Not since Moortown Setanta in 1971 has an East Tyrone team outside of Eoghan Ruadh contested the Senior Hurling Final. The date for the big game has to be confirmed.

ARMAGH LEAGUE TUES 2 AUG 2011.  DOIRE NÚIS 1-18  V NCC 3-14  AT DERRYNOOSE. Cilles progress to League Final after hard fought win on a very tight and short pitch. Paul Maguire saved two penalties and a 21 yd free goal attempt. One of the penalities, a dubious one in the 7th min of added time by a referee who did his best to thwart NCC. Doire Núis put in a fine showing but two classic goals from Ro Ó Néill and another by Rua was the ultimate difference in the end. MoM was Paul Maguire in goals. Others to play well in stop/start Cilles showing were Seán Kelly, Niall O Neill and John Connolly. Five men were missing from starting 15 that played on the previous Sat against Naomh Mochua. Its all about the panel at the end of the day.
