The Cilles Seniors were back in action for first time in the new season in the Táin League Div 2A today away to Tír na nÓg Randalstown. The rain cleared in time for the game but underfoot conditions were very heavy going. At half-time, it was 1-5 apiece in an even contest but at full-time the Black and Reds were 2-7 to 1-7 worse off. The keeper and defence were outstanding throughout but with lads to come into the squad, NCC can take some heart from the performance against a side who exist variously between intermediate and senior in Antrim.

Next up is Carey Faughs at home. It is not confirmed yet if Clochóg will be hosting the game. Watch this space.
